The Granite City is our hen party of the week destination as Karen’s 24-strong group of friends and family brought some panache to North East Scotland.
Karen had her party in one of my favourite venues, dark and sexy with friendly staff (one of whom has taken part in a previous burlesque hen party session and is a fully fledged member of the Elgin Follies). Our bride-to-be was beautiful and demure, taking centre stage and leading the group with decorum. Learning the valuable skills that burlesque posing can give you will mean the likelihood of a complete stranger volunteering to help pick up your shopping in Asda is far higher!
The group were quick learners who mastered slinking like seasoned professionals, and while Karen was our star, her mother Dot was a standout natural tassel twirler. Armed with hen party deelyboppers that bounced as she shimmied and twirled away, Dot was a tassel twirling machine!
The group (especially Dot) made me smile – thank you ladies for a fantastic afternoon! And I’m looking forward to seeing some you at Vive Le Cabaret, T in the Park, and at Celebrity Dance-Off 2012 at the Edinburgh Fringe.
