Well, what a weekend it has been – over 600 miles of driving, glitter, champagne and burlesque. This weekend I had the pleasure of teaching a Charm School hen party in the Peak district. The lovely ladies, who did a burlesque hen party class with us last year in Yorkshire decided to go for the even naughtier Close Encounters lap dance hen party. And they were incredible! With a giggle, a wink and a whole lot of sauciness I took them through a variety of lap dance styles to some classic strip tunes, and we threw in a little burlesque bump ‘n’ grind for good measure. The scenic Peak District’s natural beauty was enhanced by this gorgeous hen party. I am looking forward to their next session as they are thinking of having a hen party in Edinburgh!
Reluctantly leaving my lovely hen party ladies I jumped in my car and headed on up to Edinburgh, where I performed at a Las Vegas style wedding reception. The mother (an Edinburgh burlesque class regular) of the groom (who designed our lovely logos for both Academy of Burlesque & Cabaret and Charm School) organised a wedding reception event full of surprises for the happy couple. There was a piper dressed as Elvis, an Elvis themed cake, and plenty of Las Vegas style entertainment. With performances by crooners, belly dancers and burlesque performances by Gilda Lily (one of our Edinburgh burlesque teachers and a beautiful dancer) and myself. As it was a Las Vegas themed wedding reception, I decided to do an American burlesque striptease number called ‘White Nights’. A sexy, saucy number, delivered with a cheeky wink it is becoming one of my favourite acts to perform – burlesque performances really do add that extra special sparkle to wedding receptions. It was such fun to be involved with an event that brought a touch of Las Vegas magic to Edinburgh!
